The month June is named after the highest Roman goddess Juno, the wife of Jupiter, daughter of Saturn and the mother of Mars. Known as the patron of marriage and was responsible for the wellbeing of women.

The asteroid Juno discovered 1804, is the 11th largest asteroid in the asteroid belt.
