About Sandy Gallipeau
I am a student in the Faculty of Information and Media Studies at the University of Western Ontario in the Master of Library and Information Science program. My undergraduate degree is an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies Co-op from the University of Waterloo. Many of my co-op placements were in recreational organizations however my roles were mainly IT. That lead to working in the IT industry for the past fifteen years where I have held positions in Quality Assurance, Computer Training and Support. Most recently I also ran my own company Kermode Consulting (sorry no website at present) and worked in IT on contract. I was looking for a new career challenge that would leverage my past skills and that is what brought me to the MLIS program at UWO. At present I am about to head out on a co-op work term at an academic library as a Learning and Curriculum Support librarian.
