Welcome to my website Tim Burton's Melancholy Creations. This site is dedicated to the creations of Tim Burton as a film director, artist, illustrator, photographer, and writer. I will provide my thoughts on the animation, movies, and books by Tim Burton that I own copies of. Last summer I attended the Tim Burton exhibit at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) Bell Lightbox. The show was an excellent retrospective of his work and it was very exciting to walk around amongst objects from his films as well as see his art work, photographs and early work.

I am also enjoy finding the connections and crossovers between movies (both Tim Burton’s and others) such as the colours and patterns; characters; actors; themes; look and feel and music he tends to use. For example I am a fan of the band the Killers. Tim Burton did the video for their song Bones which you can view on YouTube. Common themes and images between this and other works of Tim Burton include: his use of skeleton, black and white, the 50's TV feel, the desert scenes like those of Beetle Juice, the old black and white horror films feel and and of course the Creature from the Black Lagon and Jason and the Argonauts.

My site also includes related collectibles that are housed in my collection. At present I am eagerly awaiting the release of the "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street 12 inch Figure" by Hot Toys. It won't be delivered in time for this assignment however, I have profiled it in my Collectibles section using pictures from Sideshow Collectibles' website.

I am also looking forward to attending Fan Expo Canada in two weeks to get my yearly dose of SCI FI, Horror and Anime. Lets hope the lines are shorter this year! See you there.
