Corpse Bride

corpse bride poster art

Corpse Bride gives no specific indication as to what European country it takes place in but to me it seems like how life must have been like for my great-grandparents who lived in London, England. So prim and proper and so concerned with society and proper protocol. Of course that is where the similarities end. This story brings together the living groom (voices of Johnny Depp) who accidently slips the ring intended for his living bride (voiced by Emily Watson) on the finger of the Corpse Bride (voice by Helena Bonham-Carter). The story then plays out between the land of the living and the land of the dead until the rightful couple marry and the corpse bride is set free in a flutter of beautiful blue butterflies.

The images below are taken from the book Tim Burton's Corpse Bride, An invitation to the Wedding, which is also in my collection. They show Tim Burton with maquettes from the movie. I also have a premium format of the Corpse Bride which can be seen in my collectibles section.
