I first saw the advertisement for Sweeny Todd in the horror section of the Toronto Fan Expo.  Once again, this movie brought together the talents of Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter.  The critics didn’t like the singing but I really enjoyed this movie, as I do all good horror movies.   I was really looking forward to seeing it because Tim Burton was the director and because my mother had seen it as a play when she lived in London, England so I had heard stories about it as a child.  We had a running joke around our house whenever it was meat pie night as to what was really in the meat pies.  I don’t like meat pies at all, but not because of the story.  My mom used to laugh about sitting in the theater eating meat pies and watching the play.  At that time, if a play had empty seats, it was free for nursing students to attend plays.  It used to really disturb some of the other theater goers as how she could eat during that play.
